The Serranía de Ronda has made wine since Roman times and sits within the D.O.P. Sierras de Málaga, with vineyards climbing from 600 to over 1,000 m. Its high-altitude boutique wineries produce structured reds and aromatic whites from Tempranillo, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot and local grapes. In 2025 the Ronda–Málaga Wine Route was named Spain’s best up-and-coming wine route.
